Toronto is Canada’s business centre and as such, it has a dense downtown core. The key to enjoying your visit here is to venture beyond the city-centre to explore the many rich and diverse neighbourhoods that make up this great town. From Little Italy and Cabbagetown to Queen Street West, the Beaches and the Distillery, this city offers pockets of personality in every corner.
Depending on your interests, we’ll share our favourite city view from Toronto Island, local artist studios, hopping ethnic markets with delicious cheeses and aromatic spices or designer boutiques for that fabulous purse. The city is abuzz with celebs each September for the Toronto International Film Fest and we’ll tell you the best restaurants to see, or avoid, the crowds.
Toronto is home to four professional sports teams and depending on the season you can catch a basketball, hockey, football or baseball game and even professional tennis comes through every August. Or join in the fun as the streets come alive with music and entertainment at the many local festivals and street fairs held throughout the year.
Good daytrips are easy and can take you to quaint little towns, spectacular falls, respected wineries or impressive galleries. For those with extra days we can steer you up north to cottage country, Algonquin Provincial Park or Georgian Bay for a different perspective on this area. Tonic Travel™ has many gems to share for this eclectic city.
